Schoolin’ the Hard Way

The university I am enrolled in has two objectives for me as a student – (1) to make sure I begin my life in debt and (2) to inject me into the work force as quickly (and cheaply) as possible…. It’s nothing more than an industry concerned with turning profits and insuring that society has plenty of soldiers to defend its failing economy. When I say ‘soldiers’ I mean people who are specialized in one or two fields and don’t question what they’re working on or who they’re working for. Sorry, but that’s not me, and because of this, success in school is nearly impossible. Hyper Island at least reassures me that somebody else in the world knows whats wrong with traditional education and is trying to make an example for the better.

The sad truth is, learning the “hard way” gets a bad rap. I’ve decided the “hard way” is pretty much the only procedure I know, and I’m starting to believe that it’s one of my strong suits. Hyper Island actually advertises that their students “learn by failing” – I like it already. You want to talk about some motivated youth? These kids come out of the Hyper Island programs as some of the most sought after young media talent in the world. Where do I apply?
