This is what capitalism sinking looks like. By the way, you might not be getting your new sneakers anytime soon. More on this here.
Subterranean Celebrity Shelters

“It will withstand any threat that mankind, nature or the divine will throw at us.â€
Robert Vicino, a real-estate monkey, is doing what any capitalist thinking man would do – putting his money where the market is. The business of fear is a lucrative one and for a long time people have been starting wars, getting elected, and starting businesses based on our manufactured fears. According to Vicino’s website,  ”the Vivos shelter system has been engineered to withstand a 50 megaton blast within 10 miles, and virtually any other force that either nature or mankind may create.”
The facilities are said to be completely self-sufficient, equipped with power generators, deep water wells, bio/chem air-filters and best of all: “security devices” and off-road vehicles.
But if you still aren’t sold on the idea… Tom Cruise recently purchased his own $10 million shelter system in an undisclosed part of Colorado. Thats how ya know it must be good right?
Visit his website… it’s 100% worth it …and I thought the “count down to Armageddon” only existed as Public Enemy’s intro track.

Bombs Away: Why Extinction is OK :)
January 23, 2010 | by Maxwell | Comment

We, like the majestic dinosaurs of past prehistoric eras, share commonalities that most time go unnoticed. Our species will invariably fail. This disturbing truth is not so disturbing if one considers history. Extinction is natural. Virtually none of the species that existed during the Cretaceous period are active today. Put simply, their evolutionary development was retarded by competition from other species or, in our case, a lack of foresight. We cannot see our imminent demise in the future simply because our collective consciousness hasn’t evolved. We continue to exist happily in a state of mental lethargy.
Humans have eaten more grass than any other animal, ever. Our population is exploding while other less dominant species can’t find any grass to eat. Soon we (humans) wont have any grass to eat either. This is why you should not take more than you need.
“Once organisms get really good at sex, once they evolve the plumbing and passion for it, there gets to be a danger: so many competent DNA-exchanging beings may be born that they will improvidently gobble up all the food or nutrients or prey, and then almost everyone, including their close relatives, will die. This must have occurred innumerable times in the history of life.” – Carl Sagan
